What to Expect When Working with PCE

Welcome to PCE!

Welcome to the PCE family! Our events are only as good as the skilled pros working them, so we’re thrilled to bring you aboard. We are confident your expertise will lead to our mutual success.

Below you will find answers to common questions about working PCE events and a list of pertinent phone numbers you should keep handy.

How do I start working on events for PCE?
After you’ve completed your PCE application, you need to download the Lasso app on iOS or Android. Lasso is the workforce management tool PCE uses to choose employees for specific roles at specific events. Without Lasso, you will be unable to work for PCE.

How do I use Lasso?
For help using Lasso, consult these excellent resources:

I don’t see any jobs available in Lasso. Do I need to do something?
When you first sign into Lasso, you are unlikely to see any jobs available. PCE will invite YOU to apply for jobs as events come up that match your skills. To ensure you receive these invitations, enable push notifications in the Lasso app, and check the email associated with your Lasso on a frequent basis.

How do I apply for a specific event?
PCE will invite you
to apply for jobs that match your skill set(s). When this happens, you will receive an email and a Lasso notification inviting you to apply. IMPORTANT NOTE: Receiving an invitation to apply for a job in Lasso does not guarantee that you will be selected for that job. First, you have to confirm your availability for the job via the invitation. Then, you’ll wait for our Workforce Coordinator to review your application along with all the others they’ve received for the role.

When/how will I find out if I am selected to work on an event?
After you apply to work an event via Lasso, the PCE Workforce Coordinator will evaluate your application alongside any others submitted for the event. The Workforce Coordinator will then select the candidate best qualified for the position. If you are selected, you will receive an email and a Lasso notification asking you to confirm/lock in your commitment. (For best results, please respond to confirmation requests quickly. Those who do not confirm in a timely manner will be replaced with another applicant.)

I was invited to apply for a job, but I can’t do it. Do I need to do anything?
If you have been invited to apply for a job that you cannot do due to a scheduling conflict (or any other reason), please decline the job in Lasso. This helps us immensely as we try to staff our events.

Any tips for securing work in Lasso?
For best results with Lasso, use your Lasso calendar to mark “blackout” dates on which you cannot work for scheduling reasons. This helps our Workforce Coordinator find work that matches your availability.
When you receive an invitation to apply to a job, pay close attention to the dates and times of the specific position for which you’ve received the invitation, as opposed to the overall job dates. These two windows don’t always match. PCE often needs different crews on different days and at different times over the duration of a job.
If you receive an invitation to apply to a job but are only partially available for the job dates, please inform the PCE Workforce Coordinator via email (and refrain from applying). Sometimes, we will split up shifts, so partial availability may still land you some work.

What if I see someone doing something unsafe on a job site?
If you have safety concerns, notify the PCE site supervisor immediately. If the site supervisor does not resolve the issue, contact the PCE office at 866-335-4723.

What if someone asks me to do something I do not feel is safe?
Do not, under any circumstances, do something on a PCE job site that you do not feel is safe, even when asked by a site lead. If you feel you have been asked to do something unsafe, please contact our office immediately at  866-335-4723.

How/when will I be paid after working on an event?
At PCE, we pay employees an hourly rate. Within 48 hours of your shift completion, you will receive a digital timesheet to log the hours you worked. PCE processes payroll on the 1st and 15th of every month. (Please note, hours logged in the final days of a given pay period may not process until the following pay period).

What if something comes up and I cannot make it to an event I am scheduled for?
Please contact the PCE Workforce Coordinator immediately at 714-464-2107 so that they can find someone to cover your shift.

What do I have to wear to events when working for PCE?
Employees should wear either PCE T-shirts or show blacks to an event, as directed by the Workforce Coordinator on an event-by-event basis. (When you first begin work at PCE, please make time to stop by our nearest office to pick up some PCE T-shirts).

Do I need to bring my own tools (wrenches, multi-tools, etc.)?
Please bring any basic tools considered helpful to completing the tasks normally associated with your role. This includes gloves, wrenches, multi-tools, screwdrivers, etc.

Do I have to bring my own safety equipment (hard hats, vests, etc.)?
No, PCE will provide all the safety equipment necessary for your event. (Only exception: we require riggers to provide their own harnesses).

Do I need to bring any of my own gear (lighting console, camera, etc.)?
No, all gear will be provided by PCE. Employees are restricted from bringing personal gear (or gear from others) to PCE job sites without express written permission to do so.

I would like to give feedback on an event I worked on. Who do I contact?
If you have comments, questions, or suggestions related to your event or your experience working for PCE, we'd love to hear them. Feel free to contact us at info@gopce.com.
