Yamaha CP-80 Vintage Electric Stage Piano
The Yamaha CP-80 Electric Stage Piano is another outstanding vintage piece from the PCE Backline catalog. Unlike other similar instruments (like the Fender Rhodes), the CP-80 is a full-blown piano with a weighted key bed and harp. It simply lacks the sound board of an upright or grand piano. This means you'll have to hook the CP-80 up to an amplifier of some sort in order to play it (any standard guitar amplifier will do).
Because of its size and weight, the process of setting up a Yamaha CP-80 Electric Stage Piano can feel a little cumbersome. In order to attach the leg supports, you must first place the piano on its side. (To accomplish this safely, you will need at least two people.) The piano's slanted legs feel a little awkward at first, but with some trial and error you can determine which direction they need to face and attach them. The process of attaching and securing the pedal has its own little quirks, but following the steps outlined in this video will help get the job done.
Once fully set up, the Yamaha CP-80 offers a terrific sound. Playing it feels just like playing a full piano. To rent one of these amazing instruments, click here or call us at 714-464-2406.
